More about this Mercedes 230
Ref B525 MYJ SMC Heritage are proud to present one of our favourite vehicles of all time the W123 Mercedes. This incredible 230e 5 Speed Manual has only covered 30,900 Miles and has been in the custody of the same family (Father and daughter) since 1986. Background: The Mercedes W123 Series of cars, sold from 1976 to 1985, was the most successful selling Mercedes range ever with 2.7 million sold worldwide. Saloons, Estates and Coupes were offered with both petrol and diesel engines. They are now revered worldwide for their timeless good looks and bullet proof longevity Provenance: Built in March 1984 by the Mercedes Sidelfingen plant it was supplied new by Mercedes Benz of Aberdeen. This 230e Saloon is finished in DEEP BLUE (900U) paintwork with matching BLUE VELOUR (952) interior. With the previous keepers’ tenure spanning over 30 years and in absolute time warp condition it really is as good as it gets. Interestingly the car has resided in a remote location and has only been used lovingly and sparingly on high days and holidays. Consequently, not only is it absolutely lovely throughout but also unknown on the owner’s clubs and show circuits. The car is supplied with all booklets and instructions in the original clear plastic file, one of the keys still resides in the leather cover and there is even the original 1000 Mile running in service hang tag. The number plates match the rear window sticker from period supplying dealer and all the tools are in original tool roll. Exterior: Evidently having always been garaged the deep blue paint is in fantastic order throughout with no signs of rust on the arches or the jacking points. The panel gaps and shut lines are perfect. The chrome work is unmarked and the colour matched period wheel trims are too unmarked. As well as always being garaged the car was regularly clear wax oiled so the underside is as good as the top Interior: The interior whilst a little spartan by modern standards is a fabulous place to reside. The blue Velour seats are absolutely as new and unworn. The carpets have been protected from new by genuine Mercedes ribbed over mats. Overview: With just 30,900 miles on a vehicle renowned for its longevity its condition is best described as time warp. The exterior and interior are quite simply superb. On the road this W123 drives with all the smoothness and fluidity you that you only find with low mileage perfectly maintained examples. If you are looking for the best, most attractive and original example of the legendary W123 you need to see this car.
